Considered by many to be the greatest free light show on earth, the Blackpool Illuminations have played a major part in Blackpool’s calendar since 1879. Every year thousands of people visit this spectacular show of lights. Traditionally the themes for the lights are kept secret, but you can be sure of a wonderful display that stretches some five miles along the sea front.


One of the world’s most magnificent ballrooms, nothing sums up the historic charm of Blackpool quite like the breathtaking Blackpool Tower Ballroom. Experience a famous tea dances accompanied by a live organist. Bring your dancing shoes and hit the floor for a tango, waltz or foxtrot, or take a seat and simply soak up the atmosphere as you enjoy a traditional Afternoon Tea.


Our delightful resort located on England’s Flyde Coast is a great base from which to explore the area. During your holiday you can choose to spend your time at leisure to explore Lytham St Annes or join us on our fabulous included excursions taking in the very best of Lancashire's coastal resorts plus the fabulous Lake District.

Day 1

We travel north from Kent making refreshment stops on the way to arrive at our fabulous base in St Annes late afternoon, subject to travel.


Day 2

Within an hour we are amid some of the most beautiful scenery on our full day tour of the Lake District. We drive to Lake Windermere, where there may be an opportunity to take a lake cruise. We follow Windermere's wooded banks with a memorable drive over the famous Kirkstone Pass.

Day 3

Spend the day exploring St Annes or your driver will provide a transfer to enjoy an extended half day visit to Southport.

On the seafront at St Annes you can enjoy relaxing on the wide unspoilt natural beach or take in the fresh sea breeze with a stroll along the promenade, past the bandstand and the beautifully maintained gardens. The resort's famous Victorian pier is also lovingly preserved and is the perfect spot to enjoy panoramic views of the Irish Sea. Why not have lunch in the cafe, browse the souvenir shops, or have fun in the amusement arcade? A short stroll inland and the town is a haven of tranquillity and calm - mixing an old-fashioned holiday experience with top-class modern shopping.

Alternatively, with miles of stunning coastline and some of the most scenic parks and gardens you're ever likely to visit, it's easy to appreciate why Southport is one of England's classic resorts. It is renowned for its magnificent pier, seafront marine lake and leafy parks as well as elegant Lord Street - one of the best Victorian shopping boulevards in the land.

Day 4

In the afternoon, join us for a tea dance at the iconic Blackpool Tower Ballroom. Dating back to 1894, it is world famous for its unique sprung dance floor and spectacular architecture, remaining to this day a destination for dance fans from across the globe. It also regularly plays host to the celebrities and their dance partners on a week of BBC's Strictly Come Dancing. Stepping onto The Blackpool We return to enjoy free time to explore lively Blackpool, the only British seaside to boast three piers, plus its famous 'Golden Mile' with a huge range of attractions and the fun and sparkle it offers all year round. Hop aboard one of the famous trams or just saunter along the prom! The iconic Blackpool Tower is a stunning example of Victorian engineering and offers fabulous views.

Tower Ballroom dance floor is like stepping back in time. From the opulent balconies to the intricately painted ceiling, you'll fall in love with this special hidden gem. You can dance the day away to the sounds of the famous Wurlitzer organ amidst this stunning setting, or watch from the side lines as you are treated to a traditional Afternoon Tea with especially reserved dancefloor-side tables, waitress service, and not to mention your delicious food served on a pretty cake stand and tea served in a lovely teapot. Whether you want to glide around the dance floor, relax at your table or spectate from up on the balconies, The Blackpool Tower Ballroom is an experience you will never forget.

Day 5

After breakfast we begin our return journey home taking suitable stops on the way before arriving back into Kent early evening.

The stylish 3 star Inn On The Prom hotel enjoys a superb seafront location on the Promenade overlooking the Irish Sea. It is close to all shops and attractions with Blackpool on the door step. Facilities at the hotel include a bar, restaurant, indoor swimming pool, sauna and Jacuzzi. All of the ensuite bedrooms have plasma TV, safe, direct-dial phone, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. There is a lift at this hotel.
