Amsterdam is an amazing city to visit at any time of year. From 17th century canals to stunning architecture, the compact Dutch capital city is overflowing with world-class attractions, charm, friendliness and plenty of character! We’re offering a four day break to this wonderful location with two full free days to explore as you choose.

Day 1

After our morning Eurotunnel crossing we will head directly to the hotel with a short lunch stop en route. This will give you time to be greeted at the hotel with welcoming drinks before settle into your rooms and then making your way into Amsterdam to explore and get yourself some dinner.

Day 2

Both days are at your own leisure. The hotel is ideally located with a tram stop outside and the city being in easy distance to reach. From reviews of our last Amsterdam tour customers requested a more laid back itinerary with more free time so we have not planned any inclusions or dinner at the hotel so you can explore the many restaurants before returning to the hotel.

o Royal Coster Diamonds: This diamond polishing and trading firm offers free guided tours to learn about the sparkling world of diamonds.

o Rijksmuseum: A Dutch national museum dedicated to Dutch art and history from the Middle Ages to the present day.
o Singel Floating Flower Market: Situated on the Singel canal, this unique flower market is one of Amsterdam's most colourful and fragrant attractions. The small shops are located inside a row of floating barges - a holdover from the days when flowers and plants arrived in Amsterdam every day from the countryside by boat. First held in 1862, it has since developed into the best-known flower market in Holland.

Day 4

After a leisurely breakfast we depart for a stop in Ghent on the way back to Calais. The city of Ghent is often overlooked but is full of quaint cobbled streets, and speciality restaurants tucked away in back streets in this delightful medieval town. Take a stroll through Ghent's history with its backdrop of tiny houses overhanging the River Lys with their intricately carved stonework or climb 90 meters to the belfry of the Cloth Hall and see the whole of the city in one go.
Under the watchful eye of Gravensteen Castle or Castle of the Counts, the city boasts an Opera House, 18 museums, 100 churches and over 400 historical buildings. The most visited site in Ghent is the famous polyptych, The Adoration of the Mystic Lamb, painted by the brothers Jan and Hubert van Eyck in 1432. It still hangs in its original location, the St. Bavo Cathedral.
We arrive back to Kent early evening travelling again via Eurotunnel.
