We will spend the morning at leisure and enjoy lunch at our hotel before boarding our coach to visit another beautiful château, Vaux le Vicomte, which we will experience this evening by candlelight! Every Saturday evening from May to October, visitors experience the 17th century château and its Jardins à la Française by the flickering lights of 2,000 candles and now it is our turn to enjoy an enchanting evening exploring this magical estate before the evening ends with a display of fireworks! Dinner can be enjoyed in the self-service restaurant during the evening (not included).

Day 4

After an early breakfast this morning, we will travel to Monet's country retreat in Giverny where we visit the impressionist painter's charming pink house and iconic gardens. We can then relax in the gardens at our leisure, admiring the Japanese bridge and famous waterlily pond (please note, access to the water garden is via an underground passage and there are steps to negotiate). We then travel to the pretty neighbouring village of Vernon and discover over 200 half-timbered houses with ancient doors and carved timbers, wrought iron shop signs, cobbled paths and the famous Old Mill (painted by Monet). We enjoy lunch here and spend the afternoon exploring the church, museums, the village and the banks of the River Seine at leisure.
